Let’s start with a disclaimer: Brooklyn is not Manhattan. We’re not haters at all; we’ve both lived in New York City!

But, unlike Manhattan, Brooklyn is more of a ‘town,’ with each area having its own distinct character and fewer buildings pressing down on you and blocking out the light.

That’s why, for digital nomads and remote workers, we suggest Brooklyn: there are districts with small-town vibes and independent boutique stores, mom-and-pop eateries and cafés to work from while sitting on a quiet street, and gorgeous parks full with people and sans the tourists.

You’ll have a fun as a visiting remote worker living in Brooklyn if you can locate a cheap location to call home for a month or two (and we guarantee it’s achievable, comparatively!).

Are there any additional reasons why Brooklyn is the best area to work from home? Well, since you have fantastic access to the rest of NYC through mass transportation (the subway and buses! ), you can always be experiencing Queens culture, lesser-known places in Manhattan, and day excursions out of town such to Beacon, NY.

We’ll also recommend that you visit Brooklyn Heights, one of our favorite old waterfront communities.

As a digital nomad, you’ll find fast WiFi at cafes and coworking spaces, as well as inviting professional networks, clubs, and meetings to join, as well as access to a variety of activities such as athletics and social groups. Seattle, Washington
Seattle, one of the most important cities on the West Coast of the United States, is a center for large commerce, huge technology, the birth of some fantastic coffee, and plenty of nature, once you can get in a vehicle and go to areas like these, inside Washington State:

So, as a remote worker or digital nomad, why not base yourself in Seattle for a while? When it comes to remote work locations, Seattle rates quite high. Super-fast WiFi, free WiFi throughout the city (a huge plus! ), amazing walkability in downtown areas, friendly for startups, friendly for women, outstanding LGBTQ+ safety, good nightlife, and a tremendous choice of remote work venues for coworking are just a few of its top features.

The sole disadvantage of living in Seattle seems to be the lack of air conditioning/heating in most buildings, since the mild and forgiving year-round temperatures (and extended rainy season) do not need it, as well as a relatively high cost of living… We still haven’t figured out whether it’s possible to live in Seattle on a budget. Austin, Texas 

Do you want to work from home in Austin, Texas? Many individuals appear to think so, as seen by the many reports of digital nomad experiences in this enormous and ‘blue’ Texan metropolis famed for BBQ, liberalism, entrepreneurship, and all-around young people’s fun.

Portland is a city in Oregon.

Portland, Oregon, made our list of destinations to work remotely when traveling domestically in the United States. Portland seems to be recognized for the big three: happiness factor & fun, fantastic range of venues to work from as a digital nomad, and lightning-fast WiFi for all those phone calls and Zoom meetings, with a relatively decent all-around score in terms of places to work remotely inside the United States.

But first, a little about Portland: this US city on the West Coast is renowned for its breweries, outdoor activities, and burgeoning culinary scene.

Portland also seems to be welcoming to a wide range of individuals, from the LGBTQ+ community to expats. The high quality of life score attracts professional talent, contributing to Portland’s status as a startup hub.

Boulder, CO and Denver, CO
Let’s head to the mountains — Colorado’s mountains, to be precise. Denver and Boulder are regarded for being outdoor sports meccas in the United States, and our friends who reside there have active lifestyles that include hiking, bicycling, trail running, and skiing.

Colorado residents seem to be among the fittest in the country!

When it comes to coworking or working remotely from Denver or Boulder as a digital nomad, the WiFi is generally fast, and there are plenty of locations to work from, making both towns remote-friendly at the end of the day.

Denver and Boulder, its smaller but equally powerful Coloradan twin, both provide elements such as clean air, four lively seasons, fantastic hospitals and healthcare quality, good ratings from the remote work community, and high quality of life rankings in terms of culture.

New Orleans is a city in Louisiana.

Do you want to work from New Orleans? You’ll be visiting a well-known US city that is laid-back, walkable, and culturally rich.

It may have been the nightlife, since NoLa is most renowned for its Mardi Gras festivities and the French Quarter, if it wasn’t the huge variety of venues to work from. You’ll discover a delightful American vacation with warm weather with Cajun food and coffeeshops where you may study or work.

Just be aware that August and September are the most difficult months to visit New Orleans owing to unfavorable weather patterns (hurricanes); nonetheless, these months are the most cost-effective for travel.

Atlanta, Georgia

Atlanta is a big city with a cheaper cost of living than New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and San Francisco. It is located in the southern United States and is home to one of the world’s busiest airports, with hubs for major airlines that can transport you around the United States and Latin America.

In terms of the city itself, and why it’s a good place to base oneself as a remote worker, Atlanta provides pleasant mild temps, plenty of culture and history, a diverse range of work locations, and safety for women and LGBTQ+ populations. Atlanta is equally welcoming to expatriates and holders of foreign passports!

You’ll be as delighted as a Georgia peach coworking from Atlanta or working remotely from there.

Boston, Massachusetts

Boston is a city that most people are shocked to learn is relatively tiny in comparison to other major cities. Boston, on the other hand, has a lot to offer, from its vibrant urban culture and burgeoning culinary scene to shopping, culture, history, and architecture. Have you visited Boston Common before? It’s lovely, and if I lived there, it’d be where I’d go for a walk after a hard day at work.

For anybody traveling or working remotely, Boston is a great place to visit. For all of your work requirements, it’s simple to discover coworking and locations to work from, as well as easily accessible fast WiFi.
